When I let the rain wash over me, I can't tell which tears are heaven's and which are mine...

A quickie to try out Paint Tool SAI. (And to continue practicing manga style coloring.) Sketched in Photoshop, totally inked and painted in SAI. Hm, I like it for inking. Not sure if I will continue to use it for painting. I actually find the paints kind of confusing and unpredictable, since even when I did paint traditionally, I used watercolors, which behave very differently. SAI was great for the shadows on the skin under the hair where I can just take a single swipe, but I was having trouble getting decent blends on some of the gradients, for instance. When I have some time, I may repaint this in Photoshop for comparison.

BTW, this is my OC Halcyon. You met him in my earlier painting called Warmth. There's no meaning behind this piece. I just wanted to practice drawing someone crying and picked Halcyon as my subject, and as I was sketching him, I thought, Hey, his hair looks all wet. Okay, I'll make him wet. And then I came up with that silly line up top to go with the painting. ^^
