This is my major character design Yuna Doushi of my manga Life with Love and Magic. I have been working on my manga since 2004. And as you can tell with these comparisons, I had to remake it...several times. And yes, Yuna is wearing Kairi's outfit, in the revamped version she's wears one of my OCs outfits instead due to copyright(I didn't know better then.)

From a scale of 1-10, how have you improved in quality/skill?Why?

From the 2004 to 2006 time slot, I give it an 8. I mean, I didn't even consider wrinkles in clothing back then. From the 2009 to 2010 time slot, I give it a 7. I just improved in motor skills of the tablet and learned to use thinner lines. Overall...Meh a 7. Mainly because of my poor skills of the tablet. I am MUCH better traditionally....maybe I should have done that instead.

How has your understanding of art techniques and such developed?

I taught myself how to draw, so it was hard at first. I studied other anime and built my style off of many styles. Then I had my first High school art class. So I learned many new techniques there.

What have you learned?

I learned to not press as hard using a pencil, so erasing wouldn't leave a phantom mark. I then learned that wrinkles and extra strands of hair make things look more realistic. Now I sketch a skeleton depicting a pose and build from there, so now my characters have a more proper anatomy.

What inspired you to improve?

The fact that no one hugs/faves/comments on my work as much as they used to. Also, the more you work with it, the better it gets, so improvement just happens on its own.

Any tips for those wishing to improve themselves?

The phrase "Practice makes perfect" can be wrong. As long as you practice at what you think is as flawless as it can possibly get, only then will "Practice make perfect"
