Hello again!
So after painting a manga panel as a class art project, I felt that I wanted to paint something else from a manga. As a One Piece fan, I knew I had to pick a panel from there, so I went through the books until I found something that would work (at the time, we only had the first four volumes). I only recently finished painting it--it sat around as just a pencil sketch for quite a while--but I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out, especially considering that it was freehand. This is what happens when you sit me down in front of source material.
That being said, credit is needed where it is due: this image was originally from the fourth volume of the One Piece manga, with the English edition by VIZ. Series written/drawn by Eiichiro Oda.
I had originally wanted to color it in, but I felt that it has a sort of charm to it when it looks like it was ripped right out of the book. That, and my brother loves it the way it is (I gave it to him as a gift; he proudly displays it with his One Piece manga and figurines).
With that, enjoy!
EDIT: Whoops, forgot: the piece is acrylic on a flat board canvas.
