Here it is! My cover for a story I'm writing titled "Bicycle For Two."
Plot Summary:
When Paige started her senior year of high school, she thought it was going to be a breeze. But when her grandmother dies the day she turns 75, Paige’s world is turned upside down. Faced with coping with her grandmother’s recent death, she reaches out to long-time friend Ezra—and a “new” face. Ryker Heiderich sure is a charmer, sweeping Paige off her feet before she knows what hit her. They have so much in common, and end up helping each other out—in more ways than one. Unbeknownst to both is that Ryker’s ex-girlfriend Charlotte—the “queen” of the school—is out to ruin their friendship, which is quickly becoming something more. Paige tackles her ever-growing list of to-do’s with her usual can-do attitude, but practically crumbles when faced with her number one fear—losing the guy she’s fought so hard over.
Character Bios:
Paige (sitting on table) – 17 years old
Height: 5’4
Weight: 120 lbs.
Hair color: Brown
Eye color: Brown
Notable Information: A dreamer, Paige has always wanted to find her true love, though she never bothered looking. She’s strong willed, intelligent, but sometimes a scatter-brain. When she sets her mind on something, she won’t budge at all.
Ryker (in background) – 17 years old
Height: 5’8
Weight: 130 lbs.
Hair color: Blonde
Eye color: Hazel/gold
Notable Information: He’s extremely quiet, usually sticking to himself or with his closest friends—which are few. Compared to Paige, he always knows exactly what he’s doing—whether his extremely strict parents approve or not. His one bad quality: he can never stick up for himself against others his age.
Credits:
1. My secondary protagonist Ryker was inspired by Alphonse Elric from "Fullmetal Alchemist" created by Hiromu Arakawa. He is inspired by Al in physical appearance only.
2. Adobe Photoshop CS5, even though it was a pain to scan this onto the computer I still needed it.
3. Materials: colored pencils (not my first choice), regular No. 2 pencil, eraser, sketch pad.
4. Paige started out as a random character that would take the place of me in my writings. Her relationship with Ryker was created after I asked myself, "What would it be like if I had a boyfriend?" The rest of the plot was part imagination, part real-life.
This is my first submission on theO, and I'm meeting the end-product with mixed results. Doing this was 1000 times harder than I first thought, especially given that I've gone through five designs before picking this one (which turned out to be the best one, I guess). The story overall is a work in progress, I am actually writing a novel and not a manga per-se. I have no idea of what my target audience would be. "BFT" is partially based off of real-life happenings, partially made up.
