Before he was diagnosed with his illness, he was very poised and modest and the exact definition of an aristocratic son. However once he learns that he is dying, he remains mild mannered and kind but he lies around a lot more and day dreams whereas before he was rarely distracted and was always doing something productive. One of his new quirks is sleeping in the garden often in the shallow parts of the pond because he claims he feels no pain when he is in or near water.
