"Hmm... piercing blue eyes... familiar cheek bandage... but uber-pale blond hair? This doesn't make sense..."
It's Jay all right, from way back when he was still going through hard times. I know on his character sheet it said his hair was colorless, but after some consideration, that didn't make a whole lot of sense (given 'colorless' would imply black, the complete absence of color), so I'm officially changing his hair color to white.
The reason why his hair ever changed from pale blond to white in the first place was this: After he got the injury that resulted in him always having to wear a bandage on his cheek, he decided to try to get away from his old life (represented by the dark, gloomy clouds--courtesy of Manga Studio's materials repertoire) and start fresh. Which included dyeing his hair so he wouldn't be so recognizable. He got the "Jay" wristband after he tried dyeing his hair... which went wrong, though not horribly. Instead of buying hair dye at the store, the clerk got him hair bleach... and you can imagine what happened after that. But instead of totally destroying his hair, it just turned it white. And no matter how hard he tried to dye it black, brown, or red, it stayed white after that.
And that's the story behind his hair!
