(Also can be found on my new deviantart account, so this spiel will mostly be the same XD)
Finally, the project I've been working on for a while is complete! After becoming a Sam & Max fan in April of this year, and finding out that there are no stuffed animals available, I decided that I wanted to make my own. I didn't have a sewing machine at the time, so I decided I was going to buckle down and actually learn how to crochet (I'd tried it before, apparently with my own "creative" stitching, ha ha ha...) so I could make myself a Max plush. So here is amigurumi (or "crocheted toy") Max in all his plushiness :D
The only part of him that I used a pattern for (and modified to fit the design) was this Amigurumi Pear from Planet June (the body). The rest of his parts all were custom patterns based on shapes and starters from The Complete Idiot's Guide to Amigurumi by June Gilbank (whose site is in the link). Considering that this was my first major stuffed animal crochet project, I think it turned out pretty good. I mean, I know there are little spaces in the weave and some parts don't look as good as others (especially how the ears look a little uneven) but hey, no one's perfect and goodness knows Max has issues already anyways... but we still love him :D
Materials used were Red Heart Soft and Super Saver yarns, Crafter's Choice Polyester Fiberfill, Tulip Slick fabric paint, Aleene's Fabric Fusion glue, and cardboard. It's amazing how he's somewhat pose-able even without any wires. Also amazing is the fact that he can stand (with some squashing and adjustment, that is).
Also, the pose on the bottom-left was inspired by crfh-maritza's take on the "Draw Me Like One of Your French Girls" meme XD
With all that said, enjoy! Dedicated to CitrusStorm because he introduced me to Sam & Max XD
