This was supposed to be a painting of a generic beach. Some clouds, the sea, then some sand...
Then I decided to add in some "random items" which could have washed from the sea to the shore.
I was originally frustrated with the overall color scheme. It felt too unrealistic. While I do know how impressionistic my style is, I was having difficulty with the color of the sand.
In the end, I decided to "cheat" by texturizing the sand section with sand picture. That made it better. It still seem a bit bright, lacking contrast - but I can't figure out how to do it. Adding colors sort of ruin the overall effect.
In any case, as I was mulling over what to do - before I was about to finally submit it, I realized that this resembles the beach in Animal Crossing!
While I haven't had the opportunity to play New Leaf, I had Wild Worlds, and it does remind me of that section of the beach where I would run off to go fishing. That sort of justifies that dark brown area before heading out to the sandy section...
With a little creative thinking, I ended up with a painting for Animal Crossing without even noticing it. Hahahaha...
