Whew, I made it! This is my entry for Ellenor Mererid's challenge what could have been. These two are characters from my WIP novel Ends. Alexis and Jakob are their names, and they represent my fiance and I.
In my novel they are strictly close friends, instead of lovers. They went to the same high school together and hung out all the time. Even throughout their time together and how close they were, Alexis never showed she was depressed. She hid it well from everyone until one night she was rushed to the hospital by Jakob and their friends after Jakob found her unconscious in a bathroom with her wrists slit. After Alexis was released from the hospital, she was sent to Vampist Academy where she found out she's a half vampire and the cause of her depression. In her new school she falls in love with a vampire named James, and they are absolutely inseparable while Jakob still had to attend their old high school, and he never has the chance to tell Alexis how he really felt about her.
For this challenge I thought what if Jakob had opened up to Alexis about his being a vampire and helped her discover what she really was. How would that have changed the story? Well this is the result! Jakob would have done everything he could to help Alexis with her depression and helped her find her lineage. Alexis would have fallen in love with Jakob and would have never attended Vampist Academy, never meeting James. Jakob would finally be able to have the relationship he's wanted for a few years. Alexis and Jakob would be happy and eventually get married, living out their nocturnal lives together.
Thank you,Ellenor Mererid for hosting this challenge! I had alot of fun with this entry, and I know my fiance will love it. :)
