Title Note: Kotori Asobi (小鳥遊) translates in English as "Little Birds Playing" or rather "Playful Little Bird"
Extra: Story about the little bird is here~ But you may want to watch the BRS anime to fully understand the story in its original context.
Well I just finished watching Black Rock Shooter (the anime) the other night and I loved the story about the bird and the many colors that Mato reads. It was her favorite book and she loved the bird and its feathers absorbed many colors. But the story of the little bird had a sad ending but it changed in the end. The bird served as an overal representation of the anime. I wished there was more than 8 episodes. I highly enjoyed watching Black Rock Shooter and may watch it again someday.
Well I've been trying to get into more of the digital side of art. No I don't have a tablet, I want to get one someday but that's neither here nor there. Anyway this was drawn completely with a mouse (The bird, the stars, and the rainbow). The sparkles are a brush I had found awhile back.
This piece as a whole took at least 3 or 4 hours to complete. It took me awhile because I wanted to get the bird right. I wanted to make the feathers and the bird look just right. That took the longest I think overall. And I made a rainbow which was a lot of fun. Reminded me of my childhood and coloring rainbows with crayons or paint.
And I added sparkle brushes for extra sparkle. Cause I love shiny.
Needless to say I had a lot of fun making this art. This is my small tribute to Kotori Asobi, the bird of many colors in Black Rock Shooter. I loved the story even though it was sad and I found myself attached to the little bird as well.
