Note:This is my 60th Drawing here on theOtaku! Yay!
This is the second drawing in my short series featuring all of the dimensional counterparts of Yuzu Hiragi. This is Serena, Yuzu's Fusion counterpart from the Fusion dimension. To say a little about Serena herself, she is a feisty girl with a temper and at first she is determined to prove herself worthy of Leo Akaba to make her a Duel Academia soldier until she learns the truth behind what Duel Academia and Leo Akaba are planning from of course Yuzu. She uses a deck featuring Moonlight dancers and is able to hold her own when confronted in a dangerous situation although sometimes she acts rather irrationally sometimes too.
The reason I drew Serena as Sailor Jupiter is because like Makoto, she is independent, set in her ways, and determined to prove her worth. She is even shown to hold her own against enemies which make her a vital part of the Lancer team. She is also like Makoto in the fact that she becomes a loyal friend and is willing to stand up for what's right. She's even known to have a good punch like Makoto as well. There are many reasons I think she fits Sailor Jupiter's role but I think I've listened most of them I could think of. Plus Sailor Jupiter is my all time favorite Sailor Senshi and Serena is one of my favorite characters from Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V.
Sailor Jupiter's pose wasn't as hard to draw as Sailor Venus's, the only things I think I had trouble with was the positioning of Serena's hair and the hands. The rest wasn't too hard to drawn although it wasn't a walk in the park either. I started out drawing the lineart in pencil so I could erase any initial mistakes and make sure I got all the details just right before I traced it over with ink pen. I use an ink pen because it makes the line art more permanent and it makes the details stand out more which helps when I go to color it with colored pencils.
The coloring by itself took me about an hour to a few hours, mostly due to wanting the shading to be just right. In the background I also drew the olive wreath that appears behind Jupiter's Super Sailor transformation and shaded the background light green. I added little moons in reference of Serena's Moonlight Dancers.
That being said, I hope everybody enjoys the artwork. Dedicated to Groovy Boar just because.
