I made this draw for Paigeewrold monthly challenge. The theme was, of course, Mermay.
Since everyone was doing such pretty, girly and fragile looking mermaids, I decided to draw a warrior mermaid. (also I gave her a pet shark, how cute)

I have to say that I'm not so happy with this draw.. I was imagining a more striking image somewhat.. but even if it wasn't as I imagined, it's still a pretty draw, took me some time to finish. Too bad it was killed by the scanner, all the colors of the barrier reef, all the gradient of colors made with the watercolors, gone. no matter how hard I edited it, it was still disappointing. So I used this underwater effect to save it a little, but still, not happy with the final result.

Maybe I'll redraw it in a couple of years and I'll finally got the result I was looking for. I still have much to learn to make less mediocre art. but i have no doubt I'll get better if I continue to try.

I hope you'll like this even if I don't (too much)
