I understand that feeling ^^; This one time, I had to go to this new mall by myself to buy new summer clothes... The place was HUGE and full of people... I had no idea what places sold my style of clothes, and I was too shy to ask XD

The books are categorized... it's just a different system than other libraries use. Unfortunately, I couldn't tell you what the categories mean because I don't know myself ^///^U Google most likely has information on university library cataloging.
But man, an hour away? Yeah, probably better off getting your books a different way, because even though the library books would be free to check out (I think? Sometimes fees apply depending on where you live in relation to the library, like across state lines and stuff), you'd be paying for gas, right?
I never thought of that, I'll put it into consideration.
Still, I think I would be a bit too shy to ask somebody,
but maybe I could get a friend to do it for me.
Not to sound selfish or anything! :(
that's how it was for me too when i went to my school's library for the first time :)
there are plenty of awkwardness there for me.
isn't there a library that would be closer to where you're at? If there is, check to see if they could do this thing call interlibrary loan. where if you want a book from another library you could ask them to deliver to where your library is at.
