She's not really "mean" per say, but she's certainly not very nice. She thinks she is, but she can be rather rude and insensitive. And, she doesn't dislike cats as a whole, just mine. Every time she comes over, she insists on asking, "So, where's the evil cat?" as if he's so blood-thirsty creature. I've asked her numerous times to stop, but she does it anyway. And, of course some cats aren't that friendly! You wouldn't expect every person you meet in the world to be friendly would you?
I'll admit, a few of my cats aren't so friendly,
they're a bit shy and will sometimes walk away if you try to pet them ( They even do that to me!), but they most certainly will not bite or scratch you, unless you tried to maybe grab them forcefully,
but nobody likes to be randomly grabbed by strangers!
No offense, but your aunt doesn't sound that nice,
but then again, I don't know her personally so, I could be totally wrong! Maybe you should show her videos of cats being nice or doing something cute?
Ugh, THANK YOU! You don't know how long I've been waiting for someone who understands this! I have a cat, you see, who was born a stray. He spent a little of his kittenhood on the streets. He kind of territorial, and doesn't take kind to strangers. He's not mean, he's just protective. My aunt (who is admittedly quite obnoxious towards the cat) insists on calling him the "evil cat" or the "mean cat" because he tends to get anxious when she comes around and hisses at her, and has even taught her 7 year old daughter to call him that! It honestly hurts my feelings, because I regard my cat as a member of the family! And besides, if you get in his space, what do you expect him to do!? Tell you to move away!? HE'S A CAT. Cat's have CLAWS and TEETH. There is only one end result for you, if you make a cat nervous or scared! And his self-defense and protectiveness some how makes him evil!? That, I cannot understand.
Oh trust me, I understand your pain.
I've been kept up for most of the night by a kitten who was wide awak and wanting to cuddle/play.
Thankfully, he's grown out of that stage, but now,
he will sleep for most of the night, but get up early in the morning, waking me up in the process.
Cats can be annoying sometimes, I will admit.
My cats are evil, sneaky, jerks who demand to be cuddled at 2am XD
How I see it, Dogs tend to love with no reason where cats, you usually have to earn the love. That's how it is in my house anyway.

I'm more of a dog person (meaning I'd rather have one as a pet), but I do enjoy watching cats and I think they're pretty cute :D And funny, sometimes. There's just something entertaining about them that makes me think they're more fun to watch.
But to be honest, the only pets I've ever had are fish, dust bunnies, and electronic pets XD

It seems to go about half and half. Half of cats are sneaky jerjs, and half are really sweet and affectionate in their own bizzare ways. I had a cat who would follow us places if the whole family was going somewhere, because he didn't want to be left out of family outings. He was so sweeeet...
