Of course not. People use weed for different things,
and of course I wouldn't judge somebody if they used it for medical purposes, or you know, to make themselves feel happier.
I'm just saying, don't generalize it, because it's not the weed, it's the person smoking the weed. Everyone responds to it differently, just as if it were alcohol. Some people mellow out, while others become hyper. That's all C:
Well, it doesn't matter what others do with their own busniess,
I just know that I don't need drugs/alcohol to survive in life.
From my POV, I've seen what drugs/alcohol can do to people, and usually, it makes them either very angry/violent or act stupid.
I'm not saying that everyone who does those things acts that way,
but everyone I know happens to act that way, and I personally don't enjoy being around them when they do.
Firstly, I would just like to say weed smoker ≠ bad person or poor bum. Most of my family smokes weed, and like 99% of them are kind, smart, functioning members of society. The only exception being my uncle, who does much harder drugs, like crack and the like. It helps my mom's depression, my dad's anger issues, and my sister's anxiety. It makes them genuinely happier. It doesn't hurt them in the least. We are poor, but it's for a different reason entirely. My sister lives in an apartment in Dallas, and she's doing pretty well for herself.
Secondly, you certainly don't need money to be happy. As long as you have friends and/or family that care for you and love you, you're pretty much set. I know love can't buy food, but having connections can sure help. And, nobody can tell you what to do with your life! Only you can determine how it will go, and only you can choose what path you take. That guy has chosen his life, and that's alright. Sure, he's rude and his comment was uncalled for, but you can't prosecute him for what he's chosen just as much as he can't for you. It's as they say: To each their own.

Drugs and alchohol don't solve anyone's problems. Nor do they make them happy. For one, achohol is a depressant and it makes you depressed. Secondly, most drugs that make you "happy" can also kill you. Not to mention the cost of both can make you broke in about five seconds. But... I understand where you're coming from with this. It seems like everyone on the internet tells you what you can and cannot do these days. They attack you for being one thing or the other. It's rare to meet kind people, but when you do, it's short of a miracle. As for that guy, as the others are saying, he's probably upset because he thinks that way. That's probably the majority of those on the internet are that way as well. To put it simply? Freedom. They feel repressed and have no way but to channel that energy except by targeting others as they have been targeted. That, or they're just stupid and biased anyway. But I'm glad you didn't let him get to you. If it were me, I would have reacted in a much less plesant manner. ^^; Also, I get angry when people say that you need to be sucessful to be happy. Since when did life become about being successful? About money and such? Isn't the point of life to live and be happy? I'm like, "seriously? What's the point of all this! We should just be happy and do what we like and be with who we love." And so forth. I mean, in the end, that's all that matters. Not some piece of paper that says you went to school. (Though that helps, it's not essential to our functioning. It's rather something that we have added to the ability to function.)
Sorry if my comment is strange. I'm not used to commenting.

Sounds like he might've been projecting... which is actually pretty sad, because it means he probably sees himself as doomed to failure, and feels like in order to not feel so bad about himself has to go around criticizing people he doesn't even know.
Anyways, that's my guess. He could also be a 10-year-old troll with way too much free time and unrestricted internet access, but I think the unhappy projecting guy is more likely.
Honestly, I don't really care if I ever get a fancy job or not.
I mean, I don't need much in life, like new car or gadgets, just you know, the basic stuff like food, water, and well, internet. :/
Nobody has the right to say that you'll become a failure,
it's just rude and uncalled for. I'm sure that he isn't living the fancy life himself.

Right on C: But, I understand your point of view, as well. Negative reactions can only breed more negative reactions.
