This is why the internet is fantastic; if you can't find the kind of people that you're looking for in your area, you can find them online. Friends, dates (well, for those who are interested, anyway), etc. What's distance when the internet's involved? :D
Yeah! Escapism can be a form of creation. I think that might also be why there is art in the first place. It is there for people to escape, and it was created so that the artists could escape. The real world is getting the materials, setting up, etc. I think that's also why in the art world now there is such a focus on the art of process because if we consider that another form of escapism then we aren't so afraid to go through all the hours of setting up and taking down and spreading the word. That's when escapism blends into reality and that's what I advocate! A nice medium, but having both reality and escapism necessary.
Escapism is pretty much how I deal with my struggles in life.
In fact, I think that sometimes I do it so much that I rarely feel like I'm really alive, you know?
My ways of escaping real life is to write or listen to music,
but then again, I think everyone does that sometimes.
When I write, I often sneak in some parts from my real life and I make my characters go through them, it's almost like therapy maybe?
Also, Idk if this is related, but I read somewhere that since we dream so much in our life time, dreams could be considered an alternate reality. I like to think that, isn't it nice to consider that everything we've been through in dreams might be real somehow?
This is really strange....but I feel like we went through the same feels of trying to find happiness and then concluding that it was through the internet that we felt most happiest.
I think the above, though, might be just that they didn't think that you wanted to be included or hang out since that's not what you usually do? At least, that's what people tell me. I mean, really? I am a human being. Of course I want human interaction.
There are people who don't think about their friends as much, and people who do think about their friends. It's annoying when you value the friendship more than the other person. Like the feels of Killua in HunterXHunter ;m;
I think it's just that bump in human relationships that takes a lot of pain to get over and onto the happy side. 'course there is always the happy side in the internet...
You do what makes you happy! I am a supporter of escapism because without it the world is really bland. 'course the downside of that is that it makes it harder to build relationships in the real world...But it also helps you get through the day and you are still a productive member of society...
Sorry I keep ranting (such a long comment, I am debating with myselfff)
Yeah and people often see a person who stays online all the time as being lazy, or a loser, but hey, who wants to hang around people who constantly ignore you?
I'am proud of you. Yes, only you can make yourself happy. You don't deserve to be ignored. You should have friends that always want you to join them in events and love talking to you. Nothing is wrong with being on the computer rather than hanging out with other people. I feel happier whenever I'm online too, and I bet many people will say the same thing.
I'am honored that I know you and that we are friends <3

The struggle is real.
It's a good thing that you have such a place where you can get away from all of that crap.
