Aw, your comic is fine! You use lots of nice screen tones and effects in yours. :,D There's still a lot I have to learn about comic making, too. You can only get better from where you're at! ;o

Yeah, drawing mostly faces is something I tend to do, too. xD; Even though thumbnail sketches take time, I think they're a good way to practice things you're not comfortable with without messing up a comic page. :)

But anyway, it's entirely up to you how you do your comics. :D
By the way, you're right, I did my comic in pencil! I'll send you a PM about how I make my sketches cleaner. :)

Gabe is such a dreamer... that is totally, absolutely, a super-cute scenario that he cooked up, there. I thought I was on total cuteness overload from my AP Statistics teacher referring to his two small children and third-on-the-way as "two-and-a-half, soon to be three" kids. This is coming from a guy who has a super furry beard and wears bowties to school. BUT GABE... SO FREAKING ADORABLE!!

And if you make it exactly 10 pages I think that is pat on the back worthy 'cause I have never been able to write 10 pages of manga. It's either 9 pages or 13 pages or 11 pages, but I can never get to 10...;3; Darn even numbers...

A thumbnail sketch is a small, quick sketch you do to get an idea of how you want to draw something before you start drawing it. For comics, it's to get an idea of panel and speech bubble placement, poses, and angles before you actually draw the comic page. They look like this (these are from Google): [example 1] [example 2] [example 3]
You then can use the thumbnail sketch for reference when you draw the actual comic page! :D I find it helpful, because I mess up a lot when I draw and don't want to wear out the paper with constant erasing. Looking off of a thumbnail sketch I did helps me move in a clearer direction.
