Yeah, I've had people who would misspell both my real and nicknames. I get all excited whenever people spell my names right.
It's not that I hate my real name. I just rather be called by my nickname just because, you know?

I feel your pain. EVERYONE misspells my real name. My mother recently apologized for giving me a name that can be misspelled in so many ways. Nowadays, I congratulate people for spelling it right.

I know somebody in real life whose name is Michelle but she goes by Mickey too... spelled the same way, if I'm not mistaken :D

My Dad mispronounces my nickname just to annoy me -o-
