I understand...it's hard to have a fun time and smile when you're sad, but you need to be allowed to do that, staying at home wouldn't help you do that.
Most of the time I force fake happiness to not worry other people.
I also know that if I am hanging out with someone and they get the sense that I am sad, they will more than likely ask if I want to go home, which I usually never want to do. Trust me, sending me back home will just make me feel more depressed.
If you are sad why do you force that smile? You don't want to feel selfish by not having a good time? Or maybe by forcing a smile you might actually feel happy?
Sorry, but I think this is an interesting concept because I do the same thing, but so many ideas go through my head to justify fake smiling...>3>
