Masamune Date (the little guy) and Keiji Maeda (the guy with the spear) are actually real people. You should look them up on wikipedia if you want to learn more about them.
KOEI game systems took people from history and made video games using their personas. They also made an anime called "Sengoku Basara" which features these historical figures in anime form. Masamune is my favorite. In the anime and in some of the games he carries 6 katanas and uses them all in battle. In the video games he is very sarcastic and one of the youngest warriors (since he began fighting at 14). Keiji was considered one of the biggest (as in tall, very well built) in the games/real life.
American releases of the video game would include: Devil Kings (ps2), Warriors Orochi (ps2, psp), Warriors Orochi 2 (psp, ps2) and I think he appears in some of their Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors games (all for psp,psp2,xbox, wii and ps3) as well.
COOL...and funny at the same time^^...
