that is a good point Joey is the one always calling about his rattata to often then and when u do battle him its a raticate after a few rematches. i think Joey has issues in the game to. i'd would do the same thing then comfort the poor cute little eevee it looked scared in the yelling panel.
I got the game in japanese in september, and that guy did that to me! And all I could pick up out of the text was "koratta" which literally means baby rat....actually most of the the first gen pokemon names in japanese aren't very original:
Hypno=Sleep
Zapdos=Thunder
They're usually just english words...

On Mondays, between 10:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M., you can call him and challenge him to a rematch. You can do so as often as you like between those times.
I've been spending the past couple hours setting his Raticate on fire repeatedly.
