just so you know, blue bloods are those of royalty, not just aristocracy. cursed bell towers, called singing towers, can only be heard by those of blue blood like natalya.
lachlan is not from imperial perovskia, he is from the kingdom of chelicera. for natalya's 16th birthday, chelicera employed lachlan to paint a portrait of natalya. the czar was so impressed with his work that he was adopted as official portraitist of the imperial family.
