Just to let you know since your a music collector; the best ska album is about to hit the shelves. It's 99 nights of revolution, by Streetlight Manifesto and the rest of Thomas Kalnoky's side projects. I think you might like it.

Me too. I hope the trend of high quality music from Takanashi-san will continue; some long-running anime series with yearly movies can have a tendency to become a little stale. Certainly the first Naruto seemed to be running out of variety by the second movie, if not the first. The themes weren't quite as memorable and the quality didn't seem as consistent as the series. It's a good sign that the Shippuden Movie soundtrack has at least as much depth as the series' OST, though.
Yes, i have all the new Naruto Shippuden music pieces, they're very well composed, and have added a new light to Japanese orchestra
most of it is woodwinds, orchestra, piano, organs, and percussion.
I hav listen 2 naruto theme songs in the past and plenty of the naruto soundtrakz, i wonder how thiz 1 will b, so far wut i heard about it is very positive commentz so mayb it will be a good soundtrak i hav listen 2 it 1 day.
Though I miss many of the original Naruto themes, I've also been quite pleased with this new soundtrack. The intensity this new material demands is always present, and I'm glad for that. I also would like to see a wider range in those tender moments, but what we've seen so far has been done well enough for my tastes.
An all around well-written analysis of something I truly enjoy - music, and Naruto's to boot. Nicely done.

Is it bad that one of the things about which I was most excited was the use of British English spellings? Obvious reason for that, I know, but still. Just sayin'.
I really feel this is an excellent example of a music album review with a good amount of detail, critique, and - above all - fine writing ability. I hope this helps future reviewers in writing their own pieces.
Masuda's not doing the music for Naruto anymore? That's kind of sad. But I suppose the point you make justifies it.
I'm a big fan of all the instruments you've mentioned, so I'm interested to hear what Takanashi is able to do with them. I'll have to give it a listen when I'm able.

@Solo Tremaine:
I totally agree. When I saw the 2nd movie I didn't think the music was as great as the episdes.
