I did notice that Aya Hirano was going to be performing in a "mainstream" event (with tons of mainstream celebrities and singers) which I found odd. o.O LOL Yaa.... I, myself, did find it odd for an otaku idol to be performing at a "mainstream" event >A>; LOL I never associate otaku idols with mainstream idols... just because I've never have seen otaku idols become "mainstream." -shot thousands of times- It's just that I pictured some loyal otaku fans going for only Aya Hirano and not the rest of the groups/singers that are going to be there.... and then those otaku fans are surrounded by mainstream-listeners owo LOL
However, it's not impossible that an otaku idol could get that much success even though they began in the anime industry. The otaku fans should rejoice... but I guess I understand them and their feelings... It's one of those things that you can't really explain since it doesn't/shouldn't really make much sense. >A> LOL It's like watching a singer that you've found out at the beginning of their career and loved them since the start of their career... they're hardly known to anyone in the community/nation/world UNTIL a couple of years later... then they go mainstream and become popular... it's the jealousy as one of those "old-time first fans." I don't know what to call them. >A>; LOL

I never really got why the hate against Aya Hirano is so vicious online in general. Whatever attention-grabbing stuff she does is nowhere near as bad as the worst celebrities here, so blah on that. Even if someone isn't impressed with her acting and is annoyed with her acting, why drink so much Haterade? I mean, damn.
Haha, depends on the celeb, I'd say. Some idols in Japan, albeit typically older ones, get married and still manage to maintain their fanbase. Though it's true that the popular idols in their early twenties can forget about having an open relationship.
See...this doesn't surprise me. Why? Because I've known how psycho fans can get for a LONG time. Think this is bad? Look what happens when a star over there admits to having a gf/bf...That is one scary thing.
I dont understand why people are gettind so delusional about this i love Aya Hirano she deserves to do what she feels freely and whatever she chooses to do just get over it.
Damn, those fans need to grow up. They're being stupid and childish. They're not running the seiyuu's life. If anything they should continue to support her in whatever she decides to do.
Well, I wish her the best of luck in what comes her way ^_^

Pfft. People take things too seriously. If she decides to go a step further with her career, then she has every right to. And whining and throwing a hissy fit over something so small? Their reaction is as if she lit an orphanage on fire. /facepalm
Alternatives for, say, a US fan: phrases such as "sell out" and "I knew them before they were popular" and the rising star, "You're not a real fan because you weren't with us in the Dark Times".

Aya Hirano's my favorite female voice actor-And singer! If she can do a voice as high as Konata's, and still be able to do a voice like Haruhi's-that takes a lot of talent!

Oh please. They need to quickly get over it. Besides, if any seiyuu even can break into the mainstream, Aya Hirano is definitely our best bet. I can only wish her the best!

Americans love it when our celebs air their past dirt or have it aired for them. Does this make us better or worse than the Japanese?
