Couldn't Funimation just buy itself? There's gotta be someone in that company with the cash to do that; then they'd just do some sort of restructuring a la ADV.
4Kids is in severe financial distress right now, guys. They won't be buying FUNimation unless they have a specific vein of malevolent spite that they'd harness specifically to take a better company down with them.
As for this, seems a little weird that they'd want to sell 'em. They're not exactly a failing brand, after all. I'm not worried, though. If someone does buy them, they'll probably just let them carry on as usual, same way Disney's been doing with Marvel.
Although I think the sale should come with a complimentary Dangerous Box, just in case the new owners do decide to meddle in FUNi's affairs.
Somehow, I feel incredably nervous about this. Whoever will take over will almost certainly change things. Especially if people just start pumping it for money and creating cheap stuff... I just have a really bad feeling about it.
Hey, maybe however buys it will actually make more Hellsing Ultimate episodes! That would be wonderful... I really hope it doesn't effect One Piece or FMA Brotherhood though.
LOL I was just thinking the same thing about 4Kids. I hope they don't get their hands on Funimation either, because if they did, it would be a nightmare.
I'm just praying 4kids doesn't get their hands on Funi, that would signal the end of the world.
On a more serious note I think this could be a good thing, Funi needs more attention and it would be nice if it's sold to a buyer who can really put some effort to make it better than it already is (hope I'm not sounding too redundant).

As long as 4Kids, Disney, or Google (who is totally taking over the world @_@) isnt gonna buy it. Then I'll be fine.

As long as it doesn't affect their titles or releases like One Piece, i should be okay.

I'm glad it's being bought instead of going bankrupt.
