I think they're both too goody-goody but I prefer Goku.

This was a tough one, as both characters have strong points! Can't wait to see the results!

Well I finished three episodes of Trigun. Vash kind of reminds of a mix between Spike Speigel, Keroro and Son Goku. Though it looks like a fairly even matchup. Seems like each candidate is get his due.

On the grounds that I have yet to see an episode of Trigun, I humbly retract my vote and refuse to participate in this match of voting.

On the bright side, I have decided to watch Trigun to see its quality and how it may have influenced anime as a whole.

Vash is epic, but let's face it, Goku is anime history. EVERYONE knows Goku unlike Vash.

I voted Vash, cause when I was younger my lil bro and I used to stay up all night to watch Trigun. His bonde broom hair, silver gun, red coat, and bright blue eyes will always have a high place in my heart. Besides his character is in my opinion more rounded than Goku's......but dang did they really have to pair these two up. I def would have voted Goku over some of these other characters. Based on DBZ's impact on anime. But Vash is just.....epic ^^

I'm gunna go with Vash, because he is just pure epicness, and he and his anime in general is hilarious! ^^

I voted for Goku BECAUSE well....first time...long ago...little kid...anime...childhood....yeah,all of that stuff.

Vash because Goku's Japanese voice makes me want to hang myself.

DBZ was my starting point in anime when i was 9, so i vote Goku.. but they are a pretty close match up.. dbz was my favorite untill One Piece came along =)

Vash obviously, I mean, look at the list of things to consider, Vash wins all hands down except the last one , especially in back story and emotional complexity.
I feel that Vash might lose just because shonen jump fans like the dragonball series a little too much to make a thoughtful choice and consider both as viable candidates.

I will go for vash coz this is not a vote to see who will win in a fight.

And well vash live like hundred and hundred years, saving anyone in any way he can. and besides he got awesome hair. <-- that counts a lot

It's hard to choose! I used to love Trigun back in the day and Vash is a little more intriguing than Goku. Goku, however, has had the fate of the world in his hands a few more times than Vash. Goku gets my vote! :D

I love both anime's but in the end DBZ is what lured me into anime so my vote is for Goku.

Goku saved the entire planet, explored and trained in the afterlife, was brought back to life multiple times, and has amazing hair.

HE WINS.

But on a fashion note, Vash pwns all.

I was at first thinking Goku - I mean, he's classic. But then I re-read the list of what to consider and I have to admit, Vash really comes off as a guy with more depth and character than Goku does.

See, this is actually tough. This is a true match-up, because both characters are equally awesome, and very similar in terms of personality.

Although I do love Trigun, in the end I had to go with Goku. If we're talking "greatest anime character", Dragon Ball is a legend, and the personification of that legend is Goku

Obviously, Goku deserves more!
