Oh, OK. My bad ^///^ But cool; I didn't know they offered Comm. tech in high school.
Certainly. But the way around it is to just use the 3D sparingly; I wouldn't use it unless I was watching something I knew could benefit from it. Most of the time I'll probably just leave the effect off.
And frankly, I'm still holding out possible hope that One Piece: Unlimited Cruise SP can be brought over... that'd pretty much be a system seller for me, besides Paper Mario, that is (feels like I'm missing something... I know I'm kind of looking forward to Ocarina of Time, but not that badly...).
I watched some E3 coverage. Wii U graphics looks great - Nintendo in HD means potential for better graphics.
The controller seems really cool too. At first I thought it would be confusing to work off two screens but then I had an 'duh!' moment and realized the DS has two screens too lol.
I've always preferred Nintendo to other consoles so it's cool to see them stepping up their game.
Honestly, the thing I was most excited about the Wii U was simply the HD capabilities.
The controller seems kind of gimmicky (unique enough, but still gimmicky) to me, and I assume it'll be a pain in the butt to replace if it gets broken or lost.
*laughs* Oh, no, I'm in high school so it wasn't anything like that. I actually already earned my 3 credits for the semester and was trying to cram some last minute studying in for science = u =;;
It seems it has xD I find the 3DS way too hard on the eyes...
That must've been disruptive... "So today we're going to talk about the history of the satellite dish--" "OH YEAH!!" (Just a thought; probably way off, though XD I'm finishing up a Comm. tech class myself) Did your professor do anything about it?
The Wii peripherals (and past games, if I remember correctly) are all compatible with the Wii U, so you'll be able to use the Wiimotes and nunchuks, Zapper, Balance Board, and any others I might've missed (I guess the Vitality Sensor just kind of faded into oblivion, huh? :D) So, in a sense, they're still about getting up and moving around, but only for some games. It looks like they'll be trying to bring in almost every type of gamer.
But still, this thing's got me really wondering about future console purchases. Budgets being what they are, it's a fight between the 3DS and the Wii U for me. Granted, I'm still waiting for an improved 3DS, so I guess I'm just leaning more toward the handheld side of this debate. But we'll see what happens; I'm not absolutely thrilled, but I am impressed by what I saw yesterday.

I was sitting in comm tech class, only to hear all the boys in the back of the room yelling and getting excited over this new console and all its games .____." They even stole my headphones OTL
I think it looks kind of interesting, but hasn't the controller completely destroyed the whole concept of Wii? xD I thought it was about moving around and being active. Guess that idea flew out the window.
I'm a little edgy on the controller so far. It's not that I don't think it'll work, but I've seen closeup videos and the joysticks aren't joysticks. They're thumbpads, same as the 3DS has. I don't mind on the 3DS, because I need that to be portable, but if I can't use the Wii U's controller as a portable gaming device, then I see no need to limit the input to a simple thumbpad. A joystick would be much more comfortable.
Eh, super nitpicky. Looking forward to this. As an aside, anyone interested in purchasing a gently-used arm and leg set?
The Nintendo Wii has a bundle of features. The fact that it has a lot of options as controllers (remote, classic, Gamecube controller) the fact that it can play GameCube games (with the proper memory and controller), purchase classic games on the shop (NES Zelda, Mario Kart on the N64, Secret of Mana), and many more.
Im am excited for the Wii-U, more excited for the possibly starter games. I saw the images on the way it looks and I gotta say, Im surprised.
Ugh, don't remind me theO. D: With that well-written speech about trying to market hardcore & casual gamers alike, I got super excited about the possibility of returning to a system in the degree of the n64 and what we got was a buffed up wii with a silly controller. I never got a wii and Nintendo certainly hasn't sold me on the wii-U yet.

@CelestialSushi:
Yeah, for sure! If they didn't have comm tech I'd wither away and die from all the other boring options ; 3;
True, that is true xDDDD

There's a perfect picture to describe Nintendo right now, but it has vulgar language. :c
