Gotcha, so the Kingpins of white collar crime, not the petty white collar criminals. Yeah, I'm ok with that :-) Only problem is, most of those kingpins have more money than God, so they could just bribe the muscle to make their lives luxurious (as much as prison gets).
I consider white collar criminals to be those guys like Bernie Madoff or the BP or Enron execs. Those who steal office suppiles are regular thieves. Apologies for the concern and confusion.
I was a latch-key kid for a while and my older sister and I were responsible for our little sister for about an hour till my mom got home.
A really good band is Hurt, link here to song(only could find one with the lyrics). I LOVE their songs! also, even the teen bands really aren't all that good. All they really have going for them is looks(Jonas Brothers, nuff said).
I hesitate to get too excited about the live-action Kenshin movie - it could go either way. The Death Note movies were okay, Mushi-shi was great and the Nana movies were pretty awesome. Still, there are a few that really fell flat like Shinobi, Sukeban Deka, and Last Quarter. And though I love the live-action version of Sailor Moon (evil Mercury!?), let's face it - most people would find it disturbingly cheesy.
And I still maintain that it is possible to be on the internet and not know every single meme, and that it shouldn't be unusual to not know something.
As an example, I didn't actually have the whole "Bed Intruder" thing explained to me until very recently. Even though I'd seen the same bandied about so much online, I had never actually gone and checked it out for myself.
I've never heard Friday, but I know the meme. I never watched the Double Rainbow video, but I also know what it is. It's a thing about being on the internet and surrounded by people who do. :P
Ignorant, ignorant people. How dare you not know internet memes.

So I'm going to sass you guys while simultaneously playing Tales of the Abyss.
"A light grey versus a black? There's no contrast there!" Yes there is. So is. Damn boys, get your eyes checked. And use your visual cues (the colons). Pshaw.
Yaaaay I get the MST3K reference. :D
Gotta love the explosion of comments for the RuroKen thing. "OMG YAY" seems to be the response, but where was this response when Kenshin got slaughtered in the Battle Royale? ...Anyone? Anyone remember that?
Nono, Pierce the Fandom With Your Chat!! lasted about halfway or 3/4 through the series.
Haha, "tough" to have contiguous conversations in the comments? I remember back in the old days (of the grey site) we'd have conversations in the podcast comments. Back in the days when we'd break 100 comments a week. Gooood times.
I'm not special enough to have my title read...;_;
I still think its possible to go through life and not end up absorbing every bit of culture. If you're allergic to a particular music genre, like I am, and do your best to avoid it, then it's very possible you won't hear a song no matter how popular it is.
It's not an issue of what you do or do not listen to. It's just straight up cultural osmosis. It doesn't matter if you're a fan or not, at some point or another you will know about ponies, double rainbows, and how Friday is fun, fun, fun, fun. Whipping hair back and forth is simply one more example of this.
Also, Jack Thompson was totally disbarred back in '08. He won't be bothering anyone important for a long time to go. THIS IS A LINK FOR YOU TO CLICK.

Oh, I know he was disbarred. I was making the point that the assault on violent video games had been going on for YEARS.
