How do you know they'd fail? :/ Just because you haven't won before doesn't mean you'll never win; writing successful captions takes practice (just like most anything else), wit, and attention to detail (to pick up on things in the image that other people might have missed). The whole purpose is to have fun and try to create something that will make people laugh. So just do your best and enjoy :) And if you really feel that caption writing isn't your forte and you'd like to put more of your creative energy towards, say, fan art, then that's fine too :) Whatever you're good at. No point in beating yourself up or moping, right?
Besides, there could be a really good fangirl or bouncer caption just waiting to be written for this image :)
