I write but I write fanfictions so not sure if I wanna do this .-.

For the record, the idea being floated around about featuring theOtaku members in the site is a wonderful idea. Like what many have said, it's one way of promoting the members in the site, particularly those who have really given significant contributions in the site. That doesn't mean I'm volunteering for this job, but from what I see, there seems to be a lot of members who are willing to take on the task.

I would feel greatly honored if I could write for theotaku.com.

Hmm, it's a possibility for me, although I'm not totally sure yet :U I think it would be nice to give some writing tips and a few "Storytelling Do's and Not Do's," we do have a bunch of writers/comic-makers in the community, and advice is always nice, right? c:

It's not too related with writing, but back in the past, I had this idea of having a weekly game in theOtaku known as "The Anime Feud". The game would be based on the rules for "Family Feud" and would basically involve theOtaku members trying to guess the top answers to anime-related survey questions.

What would make this game more interesting is if the same questions that were asked five years ago would still generate the same top responses or would give out new top answers.

I did try to revive this back in 2010, but didn't push through due to lack of survey responses. If it gets the backing of the site, the attempt might become more successful.

I would gladly write for theO. What I would want to do is feature a member each week that PMs me and tells their Otaku story.

Another idea is a Otaku knowledge Board. Basically its anime trivia and questions to see who really is top otaku.

I agree with Luna. There are a lot of worlds in here that have VERY talented people in them, and the only people that know about it are the ones subbed to them. Give them credit for their hard work. Let others enjoy their talent.

I do have to say that I like Allie Elric's idea of interviewing members and highlighting their work. I think it would be a great way to get to better know other members on the site.

I love to write and I'm open to feedback and criticism *u* but then thats about it Dx I've not been obsessive enough in being an otaku recently and I'm much too busy to volunteer myself and keep up on making weekly posts. xP I know there's a lot more people more suited to this then me ^^'

I looked over the comments below though and I like all the additions of ideas... especially the Q&A idea!!! Thats how members can get closer and learn about each other and art, and I think it would be fun!

Okay, so I have another idea for a piece I could do. It would be called Man2Man, and it would consist of comparing the powers and abilities of two fictional characters, manga or not, and who would win in a fight. Readers could request people, or I could just choose them myself.

If theO does something familiar enough, I think it should put its own spin on it. I present this purely as an example, and not a suggestion: I'm sure most here have been tagged by a meme. And what's the idea behind most of them? They're simply Q & A's to get to know members better. Working with that idea, combine something like that with what Allie Elric and alphonse13 mention about interviewing members or having Q & A's. And just like that, you've put a spin on an already familiar concept: "Memes done right". Of course, it's just one way to reach out to the community and individuals alike. Just remember, theO: make it your own.

I was in my backroom when I noticed one of my favorite blogs/worlds was updated, so I'm also going to throw the idea of having Worlds featured.

I know plenty of high quality worlds with different bodies of text and goodies. Some are icons, tutorials worlds, banners, vectors, story writers, the works! These people serve to please the public. In my eyes, if they are willing to make such lovies asking nothing in return, why not give them spot light for their hard work? [:

I love this place and would love to see more stuff around here, although I don't think I could be much help. Anyway some ideas.

I do like what others were saying, tutorials, reviews (casual sounds nice.), tips and tricks... Maybe like those things you see in the news paper once in awhile, you know, like Dear Sally or what not? You write to them with a problem and they'll respond?

I think it would also be nice if you featured written works as well. It's nice to see fan art and wall papers and cards and such, but I would love to see written features as well.

What else... Maybe find a person who excels in *blank* (digital art, traditional art, writing, graphics, etc.) and they could give feedback/criticism to those looking to improve?

Awhile back, you guys had a nothing thing I thought was very interesting. It was the "if you like this then you would love this" thing with anime/manga/video games. To spread the less well known things (Especially manga. Some of the best things I've read have been just random things that happen to make the translation cuts online.)

And I'm very glad that you'll be trying to bring more to theO! Although I haven't been on lately, I still practically grew up on this place and found some of my best friends here.

How would you guys feel about a weekly or bi-weekly writing contest in fantasy-anime style with the winner being posted on the front page and the others being posted up on a publicized world.

Call me a maybe leaning towards yes. I have to see how this pans out. 'Cause, it's like, I want to do something for this site again, but I don't know. It's conflicting. Kei, you know where to reach me.

Im interested.I like the ideas mentioned in the comments so far. But what about promoting members? We have so many people so why not give them a spotlight for the week? Since its weekly, there are more chances for people to have their worked check out. & it doesn't have to be based on who's more known. Let's be hypothetical: pretending I'm the writer, if I see a work in the fan art section, I'll be sure to note it & write about it. While I'm at it, why not write about other works they've done, as well as an interview with the otaku?

It's all an idea now, so don't go to crazy on me for this.

A problem for me is that I love to play video games and am looking for a new one, but it seems like all the reviews are written for hardcore gamers. Wouldn't it be great if there was somewhere where you could read game reviews for casual gamers like myself? I would be glad to write a feature like that.

You used to have anime reviews on here, and I really liked them. In fact, one of them sold Solty Rei. (In my house, we don't usually buy until we've seen the anime. I had never seen Solty before, but after I read that review, we bought it.)

We could have anime and manga reviews and tell people about some really good lesser known anime and manga to check out.

I think we should bring back some of theotaku's older features like amv reviews. And I also like lunastarz idea of tutorials, and manga and anime reviews.
