Ah, so that's how Adam "pulled a James Kirk".

After reading Ace's point, I think he raised a good concern. I already went to sleep during the last two hours of the challenge because it was already dawn in my place. If I had known that the rules were changed, I would probably have slept anyway since it was much easier to be achieved, especially with the increasing rate of comments per minute.

There was actually around 20% + before the buff. Though I agree with the principle you're getting at here. I was fine with seeing the 1,400+ comments before the change. That's still plenty of comments.

Soo the event ended about five minutes ago yet the tally is still going probably with the boost. In that it increased about what 400ish (40ish if you take out the boost).

Edit: Well it's gone now. It's over :)

Hope some of the people on theO are more active in the New Year, I was up really late and woke up kind of early today trying to help in winning this. Too few active people it seems, unfortunately.

Congratulations, we've successfully thrown out any meaning this might have had in favor of instant gratification at the sight of a number.

And now if you bring this back next year, the number will be even more impossible to overcome without some insanely high artificial boost. Sure feels nice being able to call a tenth of your goal total fulfillment.

I seem to recall last year you went in the opposite direction and actually challenged us at the last minute. There wouldn't have been any shame in the over 1000 you'd amassed before this little stunt. This just seems cheap.
