Whoa, I haven't seen you in these parts in ages! (...or was it me who wasn't around lately, haha.)
Funny that you mention the Read or Die OVA, since I like to return to that one every once in a while. In fact, when I was fine tuning the TV picture settings the other day, I grabbed my copy to see if the final settings also looked good with animation. I had to stop myself from actually watching it!

I do a lot of rewatching because there are just some moments in those series where the emotion and atmosphere is hard to find again. They still represent pinnacle story-telling moments. They include: Rurouni Kenshin (after the anime goes the manga), Yugioh, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Saiyuki. Of the newer stories, there's Hanasakeru Seishonen and Saiunkoku Monogatari. I watch these over and over. And NEVER regret it.

When I'm lonely I tend to rewatch choice episodes of Naruto, because I grew up with it and seeing the characters always feels like seeing old friends. But when I'm really down and out I just rewatch Ouran. Never fails to put a smile on my face.
For me there are lot of oldies in the list. ai shite night, sailor moon, saber rider, dragon ball, secret garden, daddy long legs. and of course the Ghibli movies.they all remind me of good times with my father. he passed me the love of anime.
I haven't rewatched any anime as of late, but I know I always come back to my collection of Ranma 1/2 manga whenever I'm in the mood. I never get tired of the story, and it always manages to put me in a good mood.
Yes there is. Sailor Moon Crystal brings back memories from when I used to watch the original Sailor Moon. It brings back my excitement for my childhood and wishing I could be a Sailor Scout fighting along side them all. I love the magic, the good vs evil, its just all a wonderful nostalgic package. <3

I used to watch Azumanga Daioh and Kaleido Star every year, all the episodes, because they were the first two I watched and I just loved them. Azumanga Daioh is too funny not to watch over and over again and when I need a stress reliever I'll watch Yukari's attempt to drive to calm my nerves.
for me, original sailor moon. ahhh i remember watching the movies from family video so many times that i was banned from renting them again for a while because everyone in my house was tired of watching it so many times. lol and digimon! always love rewatching the first couple seasons of digimon. :3 we also can't forget pokemon. pokemon is just one of those animes that you can't help but rewatch every now and then.

I could watch Full Metal Alchemist and Inuyasha over and over again. They're just classics and I wish toonami would've brought them back. (The originals not the Brotherhood or the Final Act ones) I could also watch Howl's Moving Castle a million times over. God, I love that movie (and the book)!
I was never one to rewatch things... but I can always rewatch anything Ghibli, and some comedies, mostly Daily Lives of High School Boys, OHSHC, and Sgt. Frog.
I agree. More episodes means more time to potentially develop characters. Then again, more episodes could also be used to waste time while the manga gets ahead, but that's another discussion for another day.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
One thing I do like about the original anime though is that it did seem to give more time to some of the other characters. They'd get whole episodes that were focused primarily on them.
I've re-watched at least a season of the Sailor Moon anime in the past (the only season I was able to get on DVD), but ever since I got the original manga I don't really watch the original anime anymore. The manga has a better story in my opinion. Of course I would be willing to watch the new dub of the original SM anime.
I don't tend to re-watch anime series. There were instances that I watched something on TV, missed a few episodes, and came back not knowing what was going on. Those sorts of things are what I re-watch.
Having said that, I'm re-watching Sailor Moon. Partially it's because of the point I mentioned earlier and partially because it feels like a different series with Japanese dialogue and subtitles. Sure, the show seems a little silly at times, especially since I'm over twice the age I was when I first saw it, but I still enjoy it.

there's a lot of animes that I would love to rewatch if I could! I would re-watch Iunyahsa, Yu-Yu Hakusho, Kenshin, DBZ, Sailor Moon, Beyblade, etc....mainly cause those were the first animes I was introduced to and they bring back so many awesome memories!!! *A*
For about 3 years in a row during summer, I'd watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It just has a great summer vibe that goes with the season. I guess for me it's now forever linked to summer and warm days.

It's not like I re-watch an anime series right after I finish watching it. I don't really do that because I feel like it would get stale real quick. That said, one anime that I watch every year at around the same time is Gundam SEED and of course its sequel, Gundam SEED Destiny. I'll also re-watch anime shows such as Vampire Princess Miyu and El Cazador de la Bruja, though not quite as annually. I'd re-watch Sword Art Online too if I had it on DVD (I'm waiting for the whole series to be released in a single set).
On a similar note, I have a whole list of manga that I read once a year each year like clockwork. For instance in August I reread all of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. Then in September I reread the Sailor Moon manga.
Ghibli movies probably fall into this category for me... I love watching and rewatching Howl's Moving Castle, because I pick up new stuff about the story every time. *u*b
Code Geass and Clannad after story I can't go too long without watching at least one of these. Each had one person that I STILL almost burst into tears after what happened and that's Rolo and Ushio.
Bleach really isn't that old but I do tend to watch the fist three seasons all the time! They remind me of my childhood when i first got into anime around age 14 ^^

My personal favorite thing to rewatch is the Read or Die OVA. The runner up goes to Spice and Wolf for whenever I feel lovesick.
