I loved his phrasing. It made my friends and I laugh. Now that I know his opinion (or the early one anyway) I can quit ranting until the movie comes out.
....
And when it does, I will be in that damn theatre making fun of every part America screwed up. And I will also be checking youtube religiously to see a rant done by one of my favorite people.
He only said this because the Japanese are more or less too well-bred to suddenly start sobbing uncontrollably and shrieking in public. They should find out and report what he did when he got home and was alone in his own room for the first fifteen or so seconds. Lots of swearing, possibly?
As a longtime anime fan and a fan of the Dragonball Universe, I cant help but feel the plight of every fan's opinion of this movie. Visually it looks displeasing, and story-wise it seems off the map, but i still cant help but feel a little hope for this movie. Ive noticed in my lifetime of watching movies, that every movie, no matter how bad it is has something that is enjoyable and attractive about it. My saving grace towards this film is that out of all the character differences - Yamcha actually looks pretty cool in the movie, so im going to use that as a building block :) and i think everyone should try that. I also believe that if everyone has somewhat of an open opinion, in the end this film can be enjoyable in some way, even though it is so different. Dont let it get you down guys :)
I basically think the movie has a 4% chance of actually being enjoyable it may sound pathetic but i can't get passed the cliche Hollywood formula they went with though the different dimension concept helps a little bit
I think I know how he feels about this movie. It's a total... abomination D: (even though I never like DBZ, I can't forgive them for americanizing it so much!)
What I can't figure out is... why is it coming out in Japan before America...? Isn't it in english? xD
I agree with last quote of this post! I feel things will turn out well in the end after seing this movie, despite its differences with Toriyama's "Dragon Ball" manga.
As cool as it is that an anime is getting a live action American movie release, I would still be put off by the casting of the characters. I mean, would you really want to see the characters you loved for so long be portrayed by some random actor? It's even worse if the actor is overly used and is in every movie..yipes.
Toriyama sensei ought to be the one most shocked by the way this movie looks, he is the original creator. Still it might be an alright movie, he didn't say it was bad did he? Well, he might have hinted at it. *laughs* ^^
