Heh. Oh rumours, I love how you're never true in the end . . .
I lucked out; at work we had a weekly promotion, dropping the 80 gig's usual $399.99 price down fifty bucks. Nabbed one for my brother that week for his birthday.
Another friend of mine from work took advantage of a no-tax day as well as a $30 off coupon (if you spend over $250) as well as store points which knocked off a further $40 for him. By that point, he was basically paying for a Blu-Ray player slash $50 game machine.
There are ways of getting a hold of these machines if you shop around with a keen eye. And hey, Black Friday and all in The States, right? Or, you can wait a little longer - the PS3's supposed to have a shelf life of about 10 years (kinda like the PS2 before it).
Yeah I already have mine too. I bought mine back in August. I got the MGS4 pack though with the 80 gig for only $400.. So I'm not complaining.
But I do know people who really want the system and can't afford the expensive price tag, so I understand. I mean, that's why I had to wait almost a YEAR after it was released to get it! When the PS2 came out, I was able to get it right away.
-____- Dang! I was hoping it would be cheaper for the holidays! Not for me I already have one but for my friends. I was hoping they'd be able to get it for Christmas if it was cheaper. I guess they have some more waiting to do.

Which means I still will never be getting one any time soon. So still no new games for me.
