In my personal opinion, cutepresea and iRaTiOnAl PrOmIsE are both right in this matter. true, it may be the manufactuer's fault for not running tests on the devices first, but it's also the buyers fault for playing too roughly or too long. too much of anything can be bad for you; heck I get sores on the palms of my hand for typing on the computer so much. If anyone should be blamed, it's the users.
To paraphrase another blog I read about this story, "tennis elbow doesn't ever lead people to suggest an addiction to tennis."
I figure it's mostly the same thing. If people are playing something for that long and can't tell that there's something weird going on with their hands . . . we probably have bigger problems.
But seriously, though, how embarrassing would it be to get this? "What's that on your hands?!" "I got it from... uh... playing Playstation..."
I agree with cutepresea. I think that its not only the manufacturers; its also the people that are playing the games for hours on end without rest and those that put too much into the wii. I have played zelda/wii sports for at max 6 hours over a long period of time and not once has that happened.
Something tells me that the manufacturers will need to make better and safer developments on their work for future platforms as to avoid more complicated health issues. I mean, new platform inventions creating such issues can be a problem that could lead to the video game industry's demise.

I've definitely felt the occasional wrist pain from playing PC games at least.
I know World of Warcraft at the very least ruined my vision.
