Yes, taking a young girl to anime cons is brilliant, especially now that he's on AMW, now he's got fourty kajillion pissed off anime fans looking for him.
Note: We otakus are a mighty crimestopping force!
PS: I've got all my friends in the US keeping an eye out for them now.

I was just talking to my friend about this the other night and I said "Why aren't all the anime conventions notified of this and keeping an eye out for them? They have to be registered to be at the con don't they?" Have the two names on hand and when they come contact the police...
For the love of all that's good in the world, DON'T sneak off to anime cons without telling people no matter how much you want to go. There'll be other cons, life marches on, you'll live... sneaking off to cons (or anywhere for that matter)... potential for less living.
No matter how many times I hear this story, I can't help but believe that something is missing...
Regardless of what I'd be tempted to through in that last statement, this story should serve as a reminder to all of us to be cautious about who we talk to when we're on the internet or texting. Even here. ...I really need to stop watching shows like the Mentalist and NCIS. >_<
I posted a while back about one night that i possibly saw the girl (i live in Texas) while i was at work one night. (I work at the wal mart in Palestine, Texas and one night a month or so ago i crossed paths with a girl that looked similar to the one thats been dubbed "Con-Girl". I didnt get a good look at her though, so i wasnt able to follow up on it. I did hear on the news that her male companion is wanted for multiple offenses, so the entire situation doesnt look good.
Crap, that guy's appearance just screams 'Stay away: creepy guy'. No way would I ever go anywhere with him at any age or state of sanity or soberness. They might want to check this girl's sanity when they get her back; I find it hard to believe that anyone could be so deluded.
