Takahashi-sensei does like particular character types, but there are some definite differences between the characters. And I didn't find Inuyasha as repetitive in manga form as Ranma 1/2 or Maison Ikaku (which, like most sit-coms, really worked better as one episode a week rather than in mass dumps in tankobons).
So I'm looking forward to this new series. Though I would like a continuation of Mermaid Saga.
Oh dear, not another one.
Dear Rumiko Takahashi,
Please woman, put a little more effort into your cliche' character archetypes, please try to keep the length to a maximum of 15 volumes, please stop it with your fillers and can you please learn how to make a decent ending before you kill us all? Thank you.
I liked the idea behind Ranma 1/2, but she belabored the point too much for my liking in the first volume. Not to mention how much it alarmed me that InuYasha and Ranma have very similar personalities, as does Kagome and Akane. She lacks creativity.
This is exciting, except as aformentioned. I hope that it has a slightly 20 book shorter story line. The repetitiveness does get old, but you can't deny the awesome creativity of Rumiko Takahashi. Come on, half demon, traveling in time, people who change into different things when water gets poured on them, and a wrestler who is in love with a nun. Come on.....amazing!!!
So who wants to bet on another super long storyline with slightly reptitive scenes? (How many times did Kikyo almost die? And how many times did Inuyasha gain a new power?)

I love Rumiko Takahashi. Could be fun, but we'll have to see.

Ranma 1/2? Inuyasha? I know not of which you speak.

I'd rather see in shades of gray.

So this looks like a possible source for filler, an extremely long storyline, and could have no end in sight for the next 8-10 years...
