Wow, I would feel SOOO bad for anyone who has had the ominous red ring of DEATH! I own a 360, and I've never heard of this problem, so I'll have to look out for it in the future, and I'm REALLY glad that I don't play it for HOURS on end!!!
This is so weird to hear about as an owner of an XBox 360 because I have never had any of these problems. I think part of it could be that I don't play for five hours in a row, but we also got the special Halo edition of the XBox. I don't know if that has to do anything with it either. However, I have definitely encountered people who have had this happen and to all those out there, I bow to you in apology. It really sucks. So sign up for this and maybe you can get it replaced!
Maybe it was all the Wii fans.
My friend is a total Nintendo groupie (not that there's anything wrong with that ^^;), and she won't play anything other thanstuff on the Wii or DS.

Hmm perhaps it was us PS3/Mac fans who hate Microsoft so. *laughs* ^______^ Though still I don't wish those who enjoy 360 users to suffer setbacks like that.
I may have to look into that, I just bought an xbox 360 friday from Gamestop, and I bought an Arcade version. The guy that sold it to me said that i was lucky because the one he was selling me was an Elite model, but since it didnt have a hard drive they were able to sell it at the same price as a normal arcade system. I managed to find more luck when it came with a rechargeble controller, which would have added more on the price as well. I havent had any problems with my sytem yet, but i made it a point to wait a while before i bought one, and i also paid extra for the service plan, just in case. I think that if anyone plans on buying an xbox360, it should be automatic and mandatory that they get the service plan too lol. Unless people have planety of money to just buy another system, but with the economy the way it is, i dont think anyone can afford to take chances lol. Take precations and im sure it will be better off in the long run, better safe than sorry lol :)

Maybe it's good that I don't have a 360, but for now I'm stuck with Microsoft as far as programming stuff....

I guess this makes me glad I'm not an avid gamer any more. This would have sent me into a rage so bad no one would hear from me in a long time. :D
