I thought they'd make way worse, with all the badmouthing (my badmouthing) and the scarceness of publicity/media coverage. They should be happy it made that much. I was estimating less than a mil LOL.
I finally saw a poster for this movie yesterday that showed James Marsters all dolled up as Piccolo and thought, "Whoa, that's what they made him look like? Yikes." Oh well, given the track record so far for us-made live-action anime films, this isn't surprising.
In all honesty I've heard mixed reviews, some people said it was good, while some just cried. I'm not sure what to think, I'll probably rent it when it comes out for the heck of it. But who knows...
Oh, wow.. I completely forgot the title when I added this onto the site. But I was going to add something along the lines of that so thank you to whoever did it.. =D.
And I also promise that this will be my last News Nugget regarding the movie (unless something of great importance comes up.. ^___^).

Well Justin Chatwin did pull it off good, playing Goku as a funny warrior, the type of character he is in the "Dragon Ball" manga.
But yes, you should go see this awesome film, and think of it as Hollywood's treat for all "Dragon Ball" fans in North America. I even gave it a B grade.
This is a situation that may hurt any chance of a sequel to "Dragonball: Evolution!
Pull in there director James Wong and actor Justin Chatwin! All your film needs is more ads and more positive online reviews by Anime fans to inspire more people to se this cool movie, no matter how different its plot is from the "Dragon Ball" manga!

Ouch. I'm not surprised. I bet they were expecting this to be a blockbuster like Titanic or Twilight xD I never expected them to even make $44mill.
