It's useless to try and return anything to Wal Mart. They pretty much have a policy that anything gone beyond their door never comes back. That's why I open ALL items in store
Something like this actually happened to me, except there was nothing in the case when I opened it. Just those regular pieces of paper that are usually in a dvd box. >:| Gee what a beautiful Christmas present. >:| Also I think it's funny about the memory stick.
Just like when prom comes around and the stores don't offer refunds and have limited time for returns. Man, why do people have to be so cheap and make it suck for the rest of us....Just work, get paid, and buy...not hard.
This kinda reminds me of a box of chocolates I received from my parents on Valentines day. Everything looked good until I opened it up and found out that three pieces of chocolate were missing from the inside. Fortunately the store was gracious enough to give us a refund, but the fact that this might have occured either in their store or at the factory that it was produced in still sucks...
Anyway, good on the mom to continue heckling the store for that refund!

I remember reading this last week when I was looking for a biology-related article for my Bio 100 class. I felt so sorry for that woman. and her kid...and thankful I have my own DS.
Haha. This reminds me of this one incident a few years ago. A guy got a brand new iPod for Christmas and when he opened it up, a piece of ham was inside. Straaange things happen, but as long as you get a refund and things get fixed, then you can look back and laugh.
And people wonder why our economy sucks. It's because f****** dumba***s like those go and return stuff for a refund but don't give back the product, ripping everyone off. There was another incident with a lady who did that for a PS3. America is so friggen obssessed with having material items that they resort to breaking the law and screwing everything up, like buying houses they can't afford, or a car they don't need. It really pisses me off and people need to own up and stop being like f******* retards.

I heard about that before. Poor kid, though I'd love to see the look on his face!
