At first I was turned off by Shin-Chan, but after a few episodes I started to really like it. I think the dubs are amazing, they really pick up a lot of things that get lost in translation and have it appeal to Americans. Indians in general might just still have an opinion in their culture that cartoons=for kids. When you think about what their main entertainment over there is, and how different Bollywood is from Shin-Chan, can you really blame them?
That bites. While "Crayon shin-chan" is not for children to start with, people in India should know by then that 1) there's a difference bewteen being a show for entertaining purpose only and giving true message, and 2) blame viewers for not taking full responsibility not to re-enact the show's dangerous scenarios.
If the Indian TV censors are so concerned about the kids, they should've moved the show to a more late timeslot (when the kids are in bed). Now, it's obvious that even adults in India who love "Crayon Shin-chan" will be disappointed because now part of their fun of Anime on T.V. is dead!
Something tells me that there are still a few nations today who still perceive animation as purely kids stuff, rather than consider it a range from kiddy shows to grown up shows.

I wish they'd ban it here too. I mean, I'm happy Adult Swim finally has more anime on, but Shin-chan? Waste of a good half hour; there's much better stuff.

Aw that sucks. India's deprived now of Shinchan! *shot* It's a great show, except here in the US, I don't like all the cursing they inserted into the Americanized version.. ;o; It kind of takes the comedy away from the original *wishes there were more episodes online to watch* <<;

Trust me, Michiyo, we're better off without it here...
Stararnold: Good suggestion. Only problem? Indian parents are really, truly dinosaurs! They're all like "Huh? WTF is anime?"
