Sorry for the really late reply! l ditched this account and made a new one, Ichigo Sugar! lol, good choice on bringing your own. x3 Good luck picking someone! Would love to see the cosplay too if you don't mind. Ooh.. pics would be great!
Sorry for the late reply, hahaha. ^^; Yeah, we finally got ice, but that was such a pain the booty that we decided to take our own next year! Already bought my 2011 membership... Now I just have to decide on who I want to cosplay as! >:3 There are three velcro strips, one on the neck, one under the snaps, and one about 12cm away from the bottom of the shirt. I'll take pictures if I can find my camera. (Kinda forgot where I put it again. XD)
Ughh... that really sucks. Did you buy ice then? Not sure where you can get them where you were, but you could get them at gas stations here.
Russia and his sister scares me. ;w; Jerry Jewel(Russia) does a good job at scaring me.
GASP. LIES. YOU DID NOT SEW IT?! You smart girl. lol, never thought of Velcro used like that. But it doesn't look like you used it in your HK cosplay. I would say to show me proof, but that'd trouble you. x3
Actually... That happened this last time. Hahaha, it was a mess, but that was the worst thing that happened so it wasn't too bad. xD For doing Russia with regular clothes, you'll need a black t-shirt, a white/pastel scarf (or something like it), boots (preferably brown and mid-shin or knee-high), a tan/grey trench coat, red strips of fabric, safety pins, and black gloves. No sewing involved! Bwhahaha! For the collar, I altered the cheongsam pattern. I'll let you in on a secret... I used velcro to hold the top together instead sewing it all together. That's all there is other than the two snaps on the side to make it look authentic. I feel evil.
lol, has that ever happened? A-Kon's in Texas-- lucky! I wanted to go there. I guess I'll just have to make mine using ordinary clothes. ;w; You're welcome! Really? I didn't see it any mess ups. Perhaps I need it right in front of me to see.x3 At least you made it look more Asian and your own. It's good to differentiate from the others. Btw, how did you do the collar?
Hahaha, yeah... This way they can be the ones that go trudge out into the 100+ F weather when the ice machines in the hotel break down. >__> My last con was A-Kon 21 in last month so yeah.... Hetalia cosplayers were everywhere but there wasn't much merchandise wise. Really? Thanks! Hahaha, I thought I did a pretty bad job myself, but oh well. Solid colored fabrics are really lame (in my opinion)... I've messed up a couple of things though because I didn't want it to just be plain (even when it should've been).
lol, maybe it'll take time to be as lively as them? But it's good for them to be lively; it's more interesting/fun. Ohh... maybe it's cause my last con was in Sept '09. x3 I'll probably see a lot more Hetalia cosplayers if I go to the one in Oct. Maybe we can consider Hetalia mainstream after taking over the world? I think I'll just ask my mom if I can get it online, though I know she'll say no since cosplays cost a lot. Thanks! I know what you mean on mainstream. I saw the pics and they look awesome! I like how there's a design and it's not just a solid color.
Hahaha, yeah... Way too much fun! I think they have the ability to like drain the energy of the people around them... They're more than twice my age and some how have like one hundred times the amount of energy I do. >_> Really? Hetalia cosplayers have been everywhere around here since like winter of '09. Still don't see any Hetalia cosplay stuff at cons, but the actual cosplayers are EVERYWHERE. We're working on taking over the world even as I say this. XDDD I'm wishing you luck on finding the cosplay you want though. Finding the perfect stuff at cons is usually very difficult... Stupid mainstream bull crap. D: (Posted links to my Hong Kong cosplay in my world by the way).
lol, your mom and her boyfriend sound fun. x3 It's great you can all do something together and have fun. Haven't seen Hetalia cosplayers yet, but probably will if I go to an upcoming con. I actually remember seeing America at my last con...and that was it. Russia's coat-- I would like to see it. x< Yeah, guess you can say they're uncomfortable with cosplayers. Hope I can find it at cons since Hetalia gotten popular 'cause the English dub is coming out. Yup, it's cause Naruto and BLEACH is mainstream.
Yeah... Considering half of the time she was going 'OMG! LOOK! IGGY! Go molest them while I take pictures~" Lol, I guess it's a good thing 95% of Hetalia cosplayers are good natured enough to take flying glomps without complaining (I think Russia was the only person he asked for permission before attacking... And that was only because he didn't want to wrinkle her awesome coat). XD Aw, well atleast they get some use? >_< Fff~ That sucks! I can't imagine going to cons without a group of morons that like to play dress-up. XD You might be able to go to the con and find something wonderful... I know most of the cons in my part of the USA mostly only have people that sell (mainly) Naruto and BLEACH costume stuffs. Maybe next year there'll be some awesomesauce Hetalia stuff?
lol, so he was being France? x3 Your mom was OK with him molesting people? x3 ''he had so much fun molesting people''-- I like that. x3 Out of all the cosplays I made, I wore only 1 of them to a con and my sis wore two for halloween. My friends I usually go with aren't big fan of cosplays/cosplayers. My mom will kill me if I buy anything online, so I hope I can find the cosplay at cons.>w< I can't wait for the pics and I'm sure it'll look awesome!
Nothing wrong with simple and sloppy cosplays if you have the perfect attitude. Attitude can be all it takes to get someone to say 'OMG! Check out that *insertcharacternamehere*! They're awesome~' Kinda like when we got my mum's boyfriend into a blonde wig and a skin tone body suit with a rose sewn over the crotch. XD The cosplay itself was awful but he had so much fun molesting people that nobody questioned his 'France-ness'. XD Buying the cosplay will probably be easiest for you then. Atleast, if you're looking online, you can find some great deals that won't rip your pockets in half. >_< Haha, I'll prolly put pics up on DA once I've got everything set up. Gotta clean up my filming area since it's now full of clutter what with me trying to move and all. XD
Yeah, cons and ready-made costume cost a lot. Wow, you made a lot on your own. I had to make simple sloppy ones 'cause it's easier[since I already have the materials] and am impatient to get it done. x3 I was thinking of buying a Taiwan cosplay. I don't have the materials and there's no local store where I can buy fabric and all. I would love to see how your cosplay turns out!
Haha, I completely understand the money situation. Yes, I have to make my own because (after saving up for the conventions) I don't have the money to spend on just buying a ready-made costume. I never wind up saving much by the time it's all over, but every little bit counts! XD Oh that's neat! I wish you luck on getting your Taiwan stuff together then! I'd offer what few money saving tips I have, but I'm kinda busy stalking the local material stores for their next stock to come in... I'm short on red fabric (again) after making my Hong Kong cosplay. XD
I just don't have the materials/money to make the cosplays. x3 Do you make your own? Wow, you cosplayed a lot. Ooh, speaking of Axis Powers: Hetalia. I wanna cosplay as Taiwan. You're welcome!
