1. See the little heart on your profile? Certainty you can't "friend" yourself, but visit any other profile on theO, and press that lil' heart, and you will be subscribed to them ("Subscribing" on here is like your list of friends, but it has a dual purpose--you also subscribe to people who's art your adore).
2. In general, on your first time, it takes about 12-24 hours for your works to be displayed on theO (theOtaku crew scans through new artist's works until they reach the point where the artist can upload works without waiting).
As to HOW, here are the steps:
#1 Select the section you would like to upload a piece of art (I'll use fan art as an example).
#2 Click "Submit"
#3 Read theO's rules and regulations on that site's uploading policy
#4 Type in all the information you'd like.
#5 Click "Browse"
#6 Upload your file
#7 Click "Share Your Masterpiece"
