It's the only way to use Ra. If you tribute three Blue-Eyes, it's ATK and DEF will still be 0 and it will hold no battle position. This is calledSphere Mode. You can the recite the Ancient Incantation and it will turn into Normal mode, which would then have 9000 ATK and 7500 DEF. You may then pay 1000 LP to initiate Phoenix Mode. If it is by chance destroyed, You may Special Summon it from the graveyard by way of Fusing it with your very soul and/or the souls of your On-field Monsters which initiates it's Instant Attack Ability to pulverize your Opponent. After the end phase, Ra is destroyed and your LP return to normal. Yet none of this would have happened if you didn't recite the chant in the first place.
