oh, I nearly forgotten to tell you this...
I got this image by screen capture the ending video of Crisis Core...
Same with the image of "A Friend's Final Words"...
There is a shot from the scenes of Last Order, but that shot didn't kill him. Zack noticed the shot and he pushed Cloud away to avoid the shot but the shot didn't hit Zack as well. Realized that the good truck driver might get involve, Zack decided to leave the truck. When the truck driver realized that there's a danger, he quickly drove off, leaving Zack and Cloud behind. Then, Zack put Cloud in a safe place(this spot is actually where I captured to make "A Friend's Final Words"...). After tendering Cloud for a short while, Zack left to fight the Shinra soldiers at somewhere just nearby Cloud (the Shinra soldiers didn't noticed that Cloud is just a few steps away...). And finally, Zack died fighting countless numbers of Shinra soldiers. I can assure you that this fact is true because I have a friend that has finished Crisis Core. Noticed that I love Crisis Core, he purposely reload the saved game just before the final battle against Shinra soldiers for me to view. Square-Enix has purposely made the Shinra soldiers to have limitless numbers. No matter how strong Zack is and no matter how easily the Shinra soldiers get killed, they'll keep on appear until the player running out of patience and energy to play. So in the end, the player will decided to give up Zack's life. Well, you can refer to Kizume's comment. I think he played Crisis Core before, that's why he put that comment. His comment is just above Yurahime's comment.

Are you sure because from what I am aware of he died when a bullet was shot out of a ShinRa helicopter at Cloud and Zack took the bullot and died from that...not from a battle. It is from Last Order...plus from FF7 Advent Children...not sure where your idea came from but maybe it is true but I am pretty sure mine is correct...
Either way I gotta say this is lovely where did you find the image for this???
it was soooooooooooooooooooo sad when i played and couldn't win *sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooob* it was the sadest ending of all i've ever seen
