A Golden Sun wallpaper is a rare but most welcome sight. This is the first wholly original Golden Sun wallpaper I think I've seen. The style is very effective and distinctive but still totally in character with artwork of the game (which was one of my favourite GBA games). I don't much about layering, and less about vectoring but I like the result.
thanks for the tips! YES I know I'm totally doing outlines now for this other wallpaper I'm doing because it looked so undefined with this one. And thank you for the shape tip, I TOTALLY get so mad when I don't link my shapes so I make a new layer everytime and then I go back and redo it so they are all on the same line.
I actually really loved making the background for this, it was really great! :)
I'm glad you liked it and thank for the response and tips, they really help!
Wow! You sure did something ambitious here!! :) I'm glad you finally decided to work on this again and finish it. It's really good, especially for like...a first full vectoring wall, right? I don't remember you doing one before. Interesting style indeed. It looks like you mixed some blurring layers with ones that weren't, and you didn't do any outlines. It isn't bad, that's for sure!!! <33
But I do think that having outlines in this would've made it a tad bit better. Just having more definitions between areas. I mean, if you wanted it outlineless, then that's fine. :) But I think if you go without outlines, that you should make some of the shading and highlights more defined, which would mean not blurring them.
Wow, that's a lot of layers. XD I can give you a hint in that department, too! Did you combine the layers? When you have a shape layer, and you want them all to be on that same layer (say all the shapes for his blue outfit, or all the shapes for shadows), you want to press ctrl + (+) (so the control button plus the plus sign). Or, you go up to the top and there's a button you click after making your first layer that looks like this. That way you won't have a billion layers! XD
Hmm...but really, overall you did an awesome job. I especially love the bg! The building is great. I dread vectoring buildings or anything that doesn't flow lol. Oh, and a question, why didn't you submit the 1600x1200 one here??? D: You know you can! Cause I was thinking, wow, you did all of this on such a small canvas lol.
