Actually, for this wallpaper, I didn't want the character to be the main and neither the flower. It's just a touch of magic on it but kinda discreet. The main important thing on it is more the sky which is almost everywhere on it. So... There's no main, for this one, I wanted to have everything at the same level, if I can say things like that. Nothing more important than the others... For what you're saying, I guess I succeeded after all XDD
Your advices came in time, anyway. I have to work on my next wallpaper today or tomorrow~~♪ So I'll do my best to follow your advices ^_~

The only reason I said what I did about the flower and gradient of colors is the following: I felt that you were more interested in a hodgepodge of fancy-looking things/effects rather than focusing on a theme for the wallpaper and using that as your base and muse. As it is, there’s no real focus on a main entity. The flower isn’t your main, the character (who I’m not familiar with, unfortunately) also isn’t the main. Even the background, for all its wonderfulness, isn’t main. Instead, you have two, maybe three, depending on the viewer, images acting for dominance where none truly wins. Aside from this, as hinted at, there’s not much of a connecting theme.

I would like to see you visualize a theme (abstract as they sometimes are) and follow that for your next wallpaper. Warp it around a main entity (viz. vector of a character/object/etc.). Of course the character need not be center, you know this. But, well, take my comment with a grain of salt, I suppose. ‘Tis free advice/commentary, so it’s only worth so much as it is.

I guess that's also a question of point of view... For me, the main problem of my wall is the scan of Akira (the character).
Till I'm kind of proud of it, I'll lie if I say to you that I'm gonna changed it. For the flower, because I like it that way and it's for me a nice effect with those little angels out of it, I can't agree with you.
I'm not sure that it'll be obnoxious for all of us but, if you don't like brightness, I guess so, yeah^^; Even if... except the yellow/orange at the bottom, I don't feel it like bright at all.

Anyway, thanks for your comment and for giving your point of view ! That's nice of you and we all need honesty^^ If I had doubts about what you said, be sure it would be helpful but, well, I'm prouder of my BG than my so-so extraction of the scan^^;

I clicked on this because in the thumbnail it looked enchanting, but up close it's too bright and the colors don't compliment one another very well. They might if, maybe, the yellow/orange wasn't so unimportant in the overall image. However, those colors, and also the flower image, feel out of place and thoughtless.

You're clearly talented, at least I think so from this image, but this is still too bright and would be a bit obnoxious as a background on a webpage or desktop.
