Sorry that I didn't comment before, but I saw the original and then this one...I think you made a great choice in changing the character's brightness! The coloring you have really suits this season, too! Great job!
Ah, I was looking forward to a critique~ I'm actually quite fond of how the text turned out, but I see what you're saying about the colors. If I get the chance tomorrow, I'll see what I can do. Thanks a bunch for your input~ ;D

Really love the atmosphere and the season <3
A few things though, I think the colors on them should be a bit more saturated, just a bit, maybe it's the older man's yellow hair, but it seems to me like they blend too much in the bg. Perfect colors are too perfect, so to speak XD
And the text in the cursive font would look better on one line and dark colored.
Amazing job at composing the scan, I couldn't tell the scan was initially one third of this beautiful bg.
