I'm not sure whose perspective this is supposed to be from...Probably Tohru's. But whoever it is, they understand how Kyo feels, and want to help him. To fix him. But the sad feeling I've always gotten from this song is a sense of "it's too late". Especially the emphasis on the word "try" to fix you. I make no guarantees, but I'll try.

I got the idea last night when I was looking through vol. 6 to find a good quote for my Psychology poster that I had in mind, and I found the pages where Kyo was telling Shishou that he hated it at Shigure's because he felt like he was being smothered in lukewarm water. And Shishou thought to himself that that feeling was healing him. And Kyo shouts that he never asked to be healed.

Later, Shishou mentions it again to Kyo, saying that it's not that he hates that feeling, it's that he's afraid. Afraid of losing Tohru because of the Cat's true form. He's terrified.

That volume is very emotional for me. xD It has been since the first day I read it. I get a contradicting feeling from Kyo, and that is that he hopes, but he's also resigned to failure. Like he's hoping against hope, against Fate even. I really do feel sorry for him.

So this background is dedicated to him.

I picked cool, calm colors because I wanted this background to be as cathartic as the song is.
