First, I apologize profusely for the vast cruddyness of this entry. I only have Powerpoint to work with. I must be the only person on earth who doesn't have photoshop.
This is for the Something Treasured challenge. I chose to do Frederic Francois Chopin. Even if it doesn't win anything (so ugly T_T) I should at least get brownie points for symbolism. ^^'
First, that's a Pleyel Piano, the favorite and almost only brand of piano Chopin would play on. On the Piano are red corn poppies, the national flower of Poland, his home country, on the white keys because those are Poland's colors (red and white). The music piece is Chopin's Prelude OP 28 No4. The picture in the back is the Warsaw Cemetery. Chopin was in france during the Warsaw revolution, something he always regretted. He was very patriotic and wanted to do more to fight for his country, but was always in poor health. He even wrote a number of pieces for the revolution (like "Revolution") and about wishing he had done more. He never returned to Warsaw, even after the revolution failed, because those that had fought were either tried and executed or in exile. He had a perfect alibi being in France, but wanted to show kindred spirit to those that were forced out. He wrote a piece for never returning home as well("Tristesse" - Melencholy). The bottom background is pretty undiscernable, but it is an original copy of Chopin's Prelude No. 15 "Raindrop". One of my favorites. Also the reason I have rain falling over the picture. No, it's not just bad quality, it is rain. XD
Here's Raindrops: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rA6pxLQbckU
